Concentration in Business and Economics
A. Business Concentration- still need 6 credits
GBS 205- Legal, Ethical and Regulatory Issues in Business- This course was my first business class in my concentration. It was a realistic look into the law of anything to do with a business L.L.C, patents, trademark infringement, and many other realistic concepts and laws in dealing with a business.
MKT 271- Principles of Marketing- This course was a true analysis of the marketing process and environment with regard to the product, pricing, distribution, and communication. While in this class I learned all the basics of marketing plans, inventory control, and the basics mechanics that go into marketing a certain product.
ACC 382- Currently I’ am enrolled in this course for the fall semester. What I hope to get out of ACC 382 is a well understanding of accounting principles and theories. This will give me a better understanding with economics and hopefully make connections between the two concentrations.
FIN 380- This course will follow after this semester, from what I have read and heard about this class is it will give me a real world look into financing and planning, including personal management, stock options, and overall value of money.
B. Concentration in Economics- needs 6 more credits
ECN 211- Macroeconomics – This course was a descriptive analysis into the functioning of economics within the American economy. It described current issues, such as inflation, GDP, and Unemployment.
ECN 212- Microeconomics- This course gave me a better understanding of the overall principles, and non-competitive market structure such as monopoly and oligopoly. Through this class I found it to be a strong beginning point in my advancement in ECN classes.
ECN 221- Business Statistics- This course will give me hands on method of statistical, and probability within the business world. This class will be a hard one a lot of math and serious calculations will be necessary to pass.
ECN 404- History of Economic Thought- This class will give me a large variety of skills and knowledge about the internal functioning of economics in today’s world.
