Throughout my life personnel experiences have contributed to the goals I have set. I have many goals in life most important, is receiving a Bachelor degree in Interdisciplinary studies from Arizona State University. I ‘am just like everybody else, different situations in life have altered or create a new goal in life, so might have had experiences happen to them at a young age other might have been affected by events that just happened recently.
I really never paid to close of attention in high school, homework, studying, or attending class was a concern of mine in that part of my life. After high school I decided to get a full time job, I was working in the manufacturing business and attending classes at Mesa Community College working towards a Associates degree. I was able to accomplish a lot, then the recession hit and being laid off was inevitable due to the slow pace and little work, this personnel experience caused me to never want to get laid off again and the best odds was to have a Bachelor degree. This experience drastically changed my outlook on education and the importance of having a degree; it might not guarantee that if the country is in a recession you will be able to find a job, but it greatly increases the chances.
Not only events or experiences can shape your goals, people play a strong role in the decision process one will choose. People for me were of course my family, my parents always told and pressed me on the importance a college education will have in my life, they are defiantly a strong role that has shaped me into obtaining a college degree. My family has a strong amount faith in me in achieving what is now the most important goal at this moment in life.
As with experiences, people, there are influences that play a part in the shaping and formation of my goals. For me some influences was seeing other friends and family members accomplish their goals by attending and graduating from Arizona State, in various fields of study engineering, criminal justice, and biology. Influences such as this play a big part in achieving and creating goals that would not only benefit me but everyone around me who wants to see these goals accomplished. I have other goals in life but those are down the way, first things first if I want to accomplish those goals I must accomplish the goal at hand and that is earning a college degree. To me I know it will open the door to opportunity, I just have to stay on top of what I’ am doing and stay focused.
